Ok space cowboy, what if the person in question never learns anything from the regret, they just keep doing the same stupid things over and over?

Depends. If they know that they are doing something wrong but aren't changing their actions...then they are just being lazy or scared about change.
If they have no idea that what they are doing is bad for them...then I don't think anybody telling them what to do will help in the long run.
People need to ask themselves..."Is this working for me?"

I don't think you are that bad Sweeney. You asking the question just proves to me that you think about these things and are willing to learn. hug

I regret meeting the love of my life, now that she's gone.
But I'll never give up.
I'll keep trying, even if it kills me in the end. nod

Some repeated behaviors I regret:

* Wasteful spending
* Unrequitted love
* Allowing myself to be distracted from my own life journey by helping/appeasing others
* Buying NPG albums
* Procrastinating
* Relaxing my standards

But Robbie Williams says, "No regrets. They don't work." I know he's correct.. I just try not to do those things as I continue.
Ὅσον ζῇς φαίνου
μηδὲν ὅλως σὺ λυποῦ
πρὸς ὀλίγον ἐστὶ τὸ ζῆν
τὸ τέλος ὁ χρόνος ἀπαιτεῖ.”
