I loved that movie too. I remember when it came out and the next Halloween after that, everyone came dressed up as that character.
Poor Brandon Lee. "I saw a woman with major Hammer pants on the subway a few weeks ago and totally thought of you." - sextonseven

Again, Vina you scare me. This is one of my favorite movies and the blown-out gothic, rainy city is supposeto be Detroit. The dvd has an interview with James Obarr (who wrote it) in his basement while he's working. It makes me cry everytime I watch it (and I'm not that emotional) when he explains the inspiration for the story. Not so much a fan of any of the sequels though.

And my friend has his same bone structure! I sat next to him at the party, trying not to go crazy and touch him.

I KNEW you were gonna say you dig this too. When are we gonna hang out, man? I love everything about this movie. I love crows, I wish I could have one as a pet. I love the partial musical theme, I think he plays guitar, right? I love the love story. Beautiful. THAT'S IT! I'm getting a dvd player to watch that interview you speak of. I'm gonna see what part 2 is like, that guys is kinda cute too...

Did you know that The Crow takes place in Detroit? Also, the guy who wrote the comic books (created the story and the characters) lives only a few miles away from me
I love Detroit! | |

I was actually kind of disapointed in the movie compared to how powerful the graphic novel was. [This message was edited Wed Nov 5 22:32:22 PST 2003 by paintsprayer] Now I'm older than movies, Now I'm wiser than dreams, And I know who's there

"The Crow" graphic novel was simply the most beautiful love letter/eulogy I've ever read. O'Barr wrote it for his fiancee who had been killed by a drunk driver.
My copy got ruined in a flood but I gotta get a new copy, as it is a book I never get tired of re-reading. The last two pages--after Eric has killed all of the hoods--really gets to me. God, there's just so much agony in the pages of this book...

I loved it when I was in my 90's brooding/alternative/industrial phase. It seems old now.

There are things in this book that they coulsn't even begin to represent in the movie like the endless hours of just waiting and enduring that he did in between dealing vengance there are pictures in this book that express such pure agony and love Now I'm older than movies, Now I'm wiser than dreams, And I know who's there
