For The DVD Lovers

Tell me which ones have the best bonus features(deleted scenes, commentary, etc)? I like Blade, The Matrix, and Terminator 2(which is my fav). T2 has an option to watch the movie with the deleted scenes added in. Although the movie gets alot closer to three hours, you get a better understanding as to why some things happened the way they did in the movie.

Citizen Kane is my favorite. It has 2 commentaries. One by Roger Ebert and one by Peter Bogdonavich. plus a 2 hour documentary on the battle over its release between Orson Welles and William Randolph Hearst.

5 stars! love this DVD.

I NEVER EVER LISTEN TO THE DIRECTOR COMMENTARIES but I did for The Simpsons and it's so fucking funny and interesting.

Unfortunately I only have Season 1... I want the other seasons...

Both of John Singelton Movies, Baby Boy and Boyz n' the hood (redition) if you into those type of movies. On the baby boy commentary, that's where I learned 2pac was supposed 2 play that role, after Poetic Justice b4 he died. Unfornately he passed away and at first John Signelton said he wasn't going to make the film, because he wrote it 4 2pac, but then he met tyrese and promise him the role.

by the way...let me use this as another chance to plug the following worthy cause:

a whole freaken extra hour of deleted scenes...characters from the tv show that are completly missing from the movie...an actual explenation and closure of the tv show...what happens to agent cooper after smashing his face into the mirror at the end of season two? its explained within the deleted scenes...damn, this would indeed be the best dvd EVER!!...

re: season two..there currently isnt any plans to release season two in the us...but its getting an international release in a couple months...i hope they transfer the content to us dvd format...

u can actually read the script to Twin Peaks: FWWM over at www.lynchnet.com. The intended film actually ties up all loose ends left from season two..and its done in an effective and intelligent way...While Lynch refuses to work in the deleted scenes into a "directors cut" he would like to see them addes as extras in a dvd...but, he wants the money to complete the scenes so they are of the same quality as the film...but nobody wants to give him the funds...so the scenes go missing... sad

Yeah, Simpsons and Futurama have great commentaries. By Season 3, Simpsons has started bringing in the actor commentaries. I know they will run out of stuff to say pretty soon though.

For an overall package, if you can find it (it was put in the vault), you absolutely HAVE to buy the Toy Story Ultimate Toy Box.

It contains Toy Story, Toy Story 2, 3 or 4 computer animated shorts, EXCELLENT commentaries, and goes through absolutely everything you ever wanted to know about this ground-breaking series on a third supplemental disc.

And, Pixar did it again with Monsters Inc. They do great DVDs.

T2 Ultimate edition changed the way we look at special features on a DVD, so that's definitely worth getting. I also was more fascinated by the historical accounts of the Looney Tunes Box Set that I just bought than I was by the Looney Tunes themselves. Check that one out. Umm, Monty Python's Holy Grail is loaded with stuff (including a LEGO version of the song camelot smile), and the Meaning of Life did a pretty good job too.

King of the Hill Season 1 doesn't have as many commentaries as Simpsons or King of the Hill, but some of them are character commentaries, which are hilarious. They also used some of that extra space to put in a ton of features that are worth checking out.

Well, I gave you a lot to look at. Enjoy.

(PS. I am a DVD LOVER!! YA!)

Well, I dont have many but 'Gangs of New York' is pretty good. Along with the film comes a bonus disc which includes-A history of the 5 points, A Discovery Channel Special, a glossary of terms and phrases, scene access, the making of... and the film trailer.

I rather liked the extras in X-Men 1.5, blew the original release away.

I can't recall details tho, cuz my DVD player broke a couple months ago and I have not watched it in a while boxed

It's normally just new films that have good extra DVD features. My choice in movies is like my CD collection. There's very little that's made after 2000. Although I'm looking forward to the feature on the Alien set.
