Australian Orgers ...or anyone who wants to go to Australia (lol)...
MrBliss posted these stunning, amazing photos of some islands right off the mainland!! I've decided that this is my destination after the first of the year... ...Since it's so close to Australia, I'm trying to figure out if I want to spend a few moments there as well. So, if you live in Australia, tell me: 1) Where should I go? 2) What should I do? 3) Who should I see? Or...should I just skip it altogether and concentrate on the islands??

Are these part of the Whitsunday Islands? they look very much like it. I'd recommend taking it very slowly all the way up (or down) the east coast from Tasmania (which is one of the most beautiful and underrated parts of Australia) take a couple of weeks at least to see Tassie, then make your way north all the way up to Cooktown in Queensland. I'd allow at least 2 or 21/2 months for the whole thing. Believe it or not you could do it quite cheaply travelling by bus or train. If you're not afraid of travel and have the time, that's the best way to see all the east coast. Also, make sure you ask locals when you're over here the best places to stay, eat and see coz it's like anywhere in the world in that local knowledge is the best way to get to know a place. The east coast is set up for backpackers, and it's the cheapest, easiest and most fun way to see it. I did it at the beginning of the year and it was awesome. I'll do it all again, too, one day soon.
Hope that helps!!! | |

How far would I have to travel to visit both Sidney and the islands pictured above??... That would be a plane trip. Too far by car. Plane would probably take you 1 1/2 hours.
