another time, i was at a water park, and went down one of those rides where you float in an innertube down some ramps, broken up by little pools. i got about halfway down the ride, and was going down a ramp, and raised my arms above my head like "WHEEE!"

raising my arms caused me to fall backwards and slam my head on the concrete ramp.

i was out for a few moments and when i came to, i looked up and was being held by a yummy lifegaurd who from angle appeared to naked, as he was shirtless. in my woozy state, i looked up at him, and said i had no idea angels would be so pretty and naked.

i quickly left and never went back.

You're a riot Chris! And you have so many good stories.

It wasn't that long ago. I think you were definitely in late highschool/early college. Didn't you do it in the bushes outside my bedroom?

Doubtful. But I'm sure your life is a lot more original than even he could come up with.

One of the worst was in Boston for a school trip during dinner theatre. In between scenes, they brought out different courses for our meals. After the soup, the next scene started with someone shooting off a cap gun. I was in the middle of my minestrone and the blast freaked me the fuck out. I ended up jumping up in my seat and spilling soup all over me. It sucked real bad.

Here´s one of my most embarrassing moment the past few years:

I was invited to be a part of an "expert panel" at a seminar organized by Stockholm Film Festival. The topic for the day was film criticism and me plus a bunch of other film critics were supposed to answer questions from the audience.

Anyway, the guy who was supposed to facilitate the discussion had asked us beforehand about our experience and merits as film critics and also what we were doing at the moment (so that he could present us at the start of the seminar). At that time I happened to work full-time with corporate journalism, which entails writing for different companies´ publications. It´s not exactly considered to be a fancy form of journalism, but the money is good.

Anyway, I was sitting there at the seminar and he had just presented all the others (most of them had like 30 million years of experience working for 2 million magazines) and when he got to me he started out by telling the "highlights of my career" in a way that made it sound like it had got more and more impressive over the years. Then he finished off by saying that I now work full time with corporate journalism.

And can you believe it: everybody in the audience (about 200 people) laughed out loud! For a looong time! They thought it was so pathetic that my "career" had taken a nose-dive (which is how they perceived it) that they couldn´t help laughing. It was of course incredibly embarrassing, but what saved me was that I got more angry and vengeful than hurt, so I spent the rest of the seminar showing off my extensive knowledge of film and outshining most of the others. mr.green

My parents always put me in little league sports when I was a kid. At the age of 10, I was in a Tyke Hockey League and it was the first game of the season. My parents, grand parents, and friends of the family came to cheer me on. After the first period, I really had my groove on. After the puck was dropped, I got hold of it, skated towards the net, took a shot, and scored. Rather than hearing the large fan fair I had expected, I looked up at the crowd to see my Father laughing hysterically. After the first period, I didn't realize that the goalies changed nets, and I scored on my own team. disbelief

I have to say that personally, I don't have many moments that I consider embarrassing. My thing is, I'm only human. I'm gonna make mistakes. You live and you learn. But, I do remember this one time...

I bought a box of sanitary napkins (ladies remember when they came in bulky boxes?). I poured them out of the box and into a plastic shopping bag. I went into a store where they checked bags. I guess on the way out, I must've set off the alarm. Anyway the security guard had to check my bags. I said "Go right ahead." Anyway, pads went flyin'. He was really so embarrassed and apologetic. If anything, I was way more embarrassed for him than I was for myself. Heck, women bleed. That's just nature.

(This reminds me of how when you're shopping for sanitary products the clerks--even male ones--always double the bag. Like it's going to embarrass you if someone knows you're on the rag! But, I think it's very courteous of them to do so.)

Yeah, I get embarrassed for other people a lot! This season my favorite baseball team sucked SO bad, at times it was too embarrassing to watch. sad

Mine just happened yesterday.
I decided to go to the pub (just for a change) for a few beers and to watch the footy results coming in.
I put on my duffel coat that i bought for the winter and left to go to the shop for a packet of cigarettes.
After going to i then walked round to my local.
When i got in i went to the bar oredered my pint and stood talking to the barmaid for a wee while. When i joined my mates they were all pissing themselves laughing at me.
It was only when i took my duffel coat off that i realised that there was a pair of underpants in the hood.
I am now looking for a new pub and a new circle of friends.
sad
