Get lost, Speccy Nerds!

Atari rules all!!

Although the Speccy did have some great games on it. They just looked better on the Atari and Commodore machines smile

It's all about Atari and Commodore, they used tape too and spectrum used Disk too!

If any1 mentions Amstrad though, I will kick them square in the nuts!

Horace goes sking on Spectrum was slammin' tho'! Activision games carried Atari from "Pole Position" to "Ghostbusters" which in turn was excellent on the Commodore 64!

Ocean/Data East and their budget version counterparts "The Hit Squad" gave the commodore classic games such as "Midnight resistance", "Narc", "Target Renegade", "Bad Dudes Vs. Dragon Ninja" and "Toki".

God I could go on all day... time 2 drag out my ol' machines!!!

Having used both the 'bag of wank' and the C64 it is my professional opinion that what you say is correct - the C64 did and does kick the spectrum's ass. However, the spectrum was a far superior machine for teaching people how to write code correctly. Remember how it used to slow down to almost a complete halt the more lines of code you wrote?
That restriction made you sit down and write the tightest code around. Having been programming for more years than I care to think about I would (if I could) force every programmer to do some programming on a spectrum. Most programmers just don't have a clue how to write decent code (particularly anyone writing in C or Java needs a good swift kick up the arse - I've seen horribly long tortured unmaintainable programs that if the programmer knew what they were doing they could have managed in 3 or 4 lines of well written code).

The spectrum is my friend. I owe my ability to write decent maintainable code (and therefore my career) to it.

Anybody remember Freddie Hardest? Man, that was my life for three months. And Game Over 1 and 2? Christ on a deckchair, my youth was wasted.

Don't blame me for this - I 'borrowed' it from http://www.aldridge98.fsn...index.html

I thought muirdo would appreciate it anyway! lol

There once was a computer called Spectrum
That had a really good game selection
It had moles and miners
And Horace and spiders
And head over heels sensations

There still is a computer called Spectrum
That is so good it gives me an erection
And the best place for
A Commodore 64
Is to stick it up someone else's rectum

I had a Commodore 64. That was 2 cool!!. That used 2 play tapes and u could use cartridges and get an external disc drive.

I had a real cool game called 'Street Hassle' that was the best. Commodore 64 was the better games machine as it had more advance hardware and a cool sound chip!.

Did any1 of u used 2 have games that never used 2 load?!

Do u all prefer the old games 2 the 1's 2day?. I have mixed opinions. In the past any1 could write a game but now u can't.
