I had a funny experience while I was at Subway today. I was quietly emulating Jared when I heard what I thought was this awful Muzak version of Sarah McLaughlan's "Adia" on the radio. I'm not a fan of the song in the first place, but with what sounded like a trumpet (I kid you not) in place of her voice, it was especially putrid.

In any case, the "trumpet" started to morph a little and it sounded as if it was trying to "sing" the words. I then was thinking, "Wow- this is a talented trumpet player!" But then, it was clear that the problem was that the SPEAKERS were screwed and it really WAS Sarah McLaughlan "singing," but the distortion made it sound like she had brass tonsils. I couldn't help but die laughing. Such a pathetically "poignant" song turned comical due to bad speakers.

Is it Mecha-McLaughlan? It sounded like the love child of Sarah and Althom's brass !

... my mum was at her local supermarket with my aunt and cousin one time and they all came back together to my parents house. I'd gone over to visit and heard them come in so I went to the front door to let them in.

My aunt says "your mum's gone mad"

My mum says "the shopping trolley was talking to me"

She's serious.

I think "what the fuck has happened to my mum, should I call a doctor or psychiatrist or something"

Turns out the shopping trolley "was" talking to her. For some reason it was picking up the local radio station. Just her trolley, nobody elses. She'd been walking round the supermarket hearing voices, scaring the shit outta my aunt and cousin, then at the checkouts they all realised where the voices were coming from.
