Word of the day.

Sooterkin. 1.* Dutch woman's afterbirth allegedly produced by sitting over a stove. hmm WTF? 2. fig: abortive scheme. 3. Imperfect literary composition.

*Okay. Why only a Dutch woman's afterbirth? Very odd. shrug

Now check this. The Dutch meaning of Sooterkin (spelt Soetekijn) means sweetheart!!! WTF?

It's the "sitting over a stove" thing I don't get ... question ... now this is gonna freak some people out, but I do know that some women have eaten their afterbirth as it's supposed to have nutrients in it ... is that what it means?

question
