simple pleasures

What are some of the little things in life you enjoy most?

I like:

Clean sheets
Saltwater Taffy
The first cigarette in the morning
When a cat rubs again your legs and purrs
The smell of books
extremely hot showers
Driving past the airport, seeing the planes take off, wondering where they are going
sneezing
Funny text messages
Hand written notes
When your talking to a person and they use your name, if you pay attention not many people do that.
stretching
When strangers say hello to you on the street
brand new socks
and
scratch off lottery tickets

smile

my children...
the smell in the air in an early autumn morning...
puppy breath...
a sweet poem written just for me...
a new born babys cry just after birth...
children singing...
the smell of fresh cut grass...
a friend calling to say they care...
getting a handwritten letter...
flowers...
beautiful love songs...
freshly fallen snow...
laughing so hard it hurts...
the smell of fresh baked banana bread or brownies...
the first kiss with someone new...
and...
the look on my kids face Christmas morning...

The smell of dawn
Hearing people say "good morning."
Super tight hugs from my 2-year-old.
Seeing flowers in her hair
Blossoming trees
A full tank of gas
Silence
Ocassional blackouts
Going to Target
Stores that close REALLY late or never
Ivy
Tudor-style architecture
Seeing a Jewish man who feels comfortable wearing a yarmulke even in a secular setting.
Women with dreadlocks
Apple cider
Fog
Long, pointless joyrides
Pistachios
Vanilla
The smell of cinnamon and clove
Hippies
Going to sleep while listening to pipe organ music
The sound of riggings
Hotel rooms/room service
Color-point cats
Fall-Winter attire

Sleeping in...

Eating out...

The smell & sound of rain...

Comfortable blankets...

Ultra-soft pillows...

Warm socks from the dryer...

A baby's smile...

Laying in the sun...

Gazing up at the stars...

Seeing a dog's tail wag when he greets you...

Watching a bee hover around flowers...

Walking to go buy ice cream...

Laughing uncontrollably with someone...

Holding hands...

A mild flirtation from an attractive stranger...

A free Coke from the Coke machine...

A soft kiss on the lips...

My mom's cooking...

Falling asleep next to someone you love...

Waking up next to someone you love...

Bowling with friends...

Seeing a shooting star...

Life.

Geez, I can't stop...

Slightly bow-legged guys
Getting packages in the mail... especially from overseas
The colors of autumn
Boston, Paris, San Fancisco
Wearing my father's or grandfather's clothes
Having someone be so comfortable with me that they'll cry in front of me
Helping an elderly or homeless person
city lights
A hairy chest
college towns
old b&w photos
Homes, inns, etc. with no TVs
rotary phones
Big band music
Hearing people speak to one-another in a language other than English
Ὅσον ζῇς φαίνου
μηδὲν ὅλως σὺ λυποῦ
πρὸς ὀλίγον ἐστὶ τὸ ζῆν
τὸ τέλος ὁ χρόνος ἀπαιτεῖ.”
