well...its decision time again...

lease is up here in 2 months...and i have to decide whether or not to move...my brother and his wife live in lawrence...thats about 30 minutes from me right now...my mom has moved away...and my sister is moving in about a year to chicago...i am very big on family being close...:Nod: so now i am thinking about moving there...

the house across the street from my brother has opened up and is for rent now...and here are the benifits...

* its MUCH MUCH smaller than where i am now...so the bills wont be as high...(my current electricity bill ...i pay 141 a month on a summer payment plan...after the heat here was over...i still have a balance of 962 dollars left to pay thats a lot of money...and its typical that my gas bill for heating will end up to be a bit more than that

* the school system in lawrence is a good system...i am in one of the better ones now...so if it wasnt comparable i wouldnt even think of moving to begin with...

* lawrence is a smaller place...more of that 'village to raise a child' idea...i like knowing that there would be lots of families in the area and the streets arent as busy as they are here either...its a nice quiet little street...

* obviously as i stated before...my brother and his family are there...so that keeps us close to family...since jake has no father figure...it would be nice to have my brother around for some male input

* i ADORE my sister-in-law...shes so much fun to be around...and we share very similar interests

* its cool to go downtown and walk around ...so many fun shops to see...and great little eating places...just something fun to do every now and then...

* i wouldnt have to do yard work there...it comes with the property

* lawrence is very culturally diverse...so thats a great thing...

the drawbacks...

* i would have to sell a lot of my stuff to be able to get us in there...its a lot smaller than where we are now

* and i would have to pack, move, and unpack all over again...that sucks


thats all i can think of right now...what do you think about moving in the dead of winter ? even if you would eventually be happier where you might end up ???

I have to move as well. See some bald guy (name is being with held to protect the innocent) recently kept pushing things at my house as long as he could and my luck finally ran out. This bald guy got me kicked out in the cold and now I'm homeless and he doesn't even care. I finally found a place but I won't be able to move in for 7 days. If anyone lives in Orange County or San Diego County and wouldn't mind taking in an evil clown named mr bungle it would be appreciated. Even though I'm an evil clown I am very personable and I hold a good conversation unless the topic turns to bald clown haters or the circus.

I say go for it, Kelley! The positives seem to outweight the negatives. It is nice to be close to your family (I live only 10 minutes away from my parents, and about 30 minutes away from two of my brothers), that's important to me too. Also, it would be nice to have a father figure for Jake, that is very important to a young child growing up. Smaller bills would be great too, I can't believe how much you pay for your electricity bill. Sounds like the right move to make. :Nod:

Second he has no respect for the owner of the house just because he plays with them before he eats them. My own thoughts on this are that you probably know what you will do but haven't found the courage to commit to it yet. I had a similar dilemma last year - whether to move or not move. In the end, the move turned out to be the best decision for me, but I was indecisive about it for months before I finally committed to it. Change can be so scary, particularly if you're someone who craves stability.

Ultimately, from what I see of the way you post, I think you will base your decision around what's best for your children.

I have to say, our moving day, along with the weeks of packing that preceeded it, was a nightmare - such hard work. Within an hour of getting here though, it was all forgotten.

thanks guys i really appreciate your helpful words...tuesday morning i am going to see what properties are available for us...and how much this is gonna cost me to pull it off
