This Game Better Be As Violent As They Make It Out To Be... after the appallingly unviolent Evil Dead Game, Manhunt certainly has a lot of blood and mindless violence to deliver...
whilst we're on the subject of games...Snoop Dog will be a playable character in the forthcoming True Crime

I dunno, the violence in these games doesn't have any impact on me... it seems too cynical, too staged. It is as if the blood and gore are a substitute for any original creative ideas, included only to placate the bratty teenage boys that they are targetting with these games (which is appalling because the games are rated for adults only - yet they advertise in kids games magazines and are clearly targetting young audience).
One of my friends was the main designer on Manhunt... there are some nice ideas in there but the over-the-top violence will only carry the game so far. Perhaps the impact of the gore will give way over the course of play to more interesting gameplay aspects, but somehow I doubt it. If you want a violent game, sit tight for Ninja Gaiden on Xbox. At least you'll be a super duper ninja able to do backflips off walls etc. Live out your ninja fantasies  | |

On the high street most of the prices are the same - GAME is probably the best place to go to. Online you may get a slightly better deal, plus free delivery. The standard bundle features an Xbox, plus Halo, Midtown Madness, and 2 months free Xbox Live subscription for about £130 I think. You might get a bundle where you get a few extra games on top of that at a discount. The "must have" game on Xbox is definitely Halo. Everything else depends on tastes of course but there are some good budget-priced games such as Dead or Alive 3, Project Gotham Racing, Amped etc. | |
