After Weeks of Fires Right Outside My Window...

...it was a beautiful sight, to wake up to this view once again:

I just took this a few minutes ago... smile

Last Saturday, the hills/mountains you see in the middle of the photo were covered with flames and smoke...so much smoke you couldn't see the sky...ashes and soot rained down...you couldn't stand outside without coughing.

Now?...I have my view back, and the air feels amazingly fresh and clean...I only wish so many people had their homes back as well. pray rose

It was also nice to look up, and instead of seeing rolling smoke clouds blocking out the sun, to see soft rain clouds floating above the trees...

It's amazing how calming an effect nature can have...I'm thankful that I live within much of its beauty. rose

Have a wonderful day. sun

It was amazingly peaceful this morning...I opened my blinds and stepped out onto the balcony...all the kids were at school, so there was complete silence as I stood out there, except for lots of chirping from birds, which only added to the feeling of peace. It was like the birds returned after weeks away...I just stood on the balcony, taking it all in, drinking a Coke..lol (don't have a coffee maker yet)...I could have just sat there for hours if work didn't call my name.

I need a digital camera. To be able to take pictures and post them within minutes is cool.

But if I posted what I saw when I woke up today, it wouldn't have been so beautiful;

2 men moving the big ass garbage can in the parking lot, so loud it woke me up. 2nd view would have been to open my front door to see the clouds rolling in and my neighbor who is a deaf mute, yelling at me (or actually just waving her arms and yelling "UGHHH!" Like Master P does.)

Oh well. I guess I would have yelled at me too if I came out in my pants and nothing else on. wink

Thanks for sharing again Byron.

woot! Awesome! I've been wondering how you are doing. hug

Did you get any rain over there? We got some, it was delightful. The air is sooo much cleaner now. I LOVE rain clouds! I wish I had a mountain view...

Thank God the weather is returning to normal. These fires were the most amazing thing I've seen in my life. Byron I'm glad your space is better and glad you didn't get hurt or lose your home. My prayers are with all the people who have lost lives or their homes pray

Those pictures are beautiful, Byron! I'm glad you're okay and that the smoke in your area has cleared.

I gotta go to Cali one day, I've always wanted to visit. What part of Cali do you live in? It looks like a beautiful area. I'm a nature loving type of gal myself, I love beaches and mountains, something that is not very close to where I live. sigh That's why God created vacations, so we can visit places that we don't normally get to see. woot! dancing jig

I hear ya Kelley, I feel the same way. Hey Byron, is it okay and if Kelley and I come down sometime to visit you? We can have a cookout on the beach, that would be a blast!
