"A Hero Ain't Nothing But a Sandwich!"

Remember that movie/book? That was the first time I ever heard of "hero" in that context. Anyway, growing up in Denver, we called it a Hoagie. The profileration of Subway in the 80's made it become a sub.

Also, growing up, it was a pop. Then I went to Boston for college, and I started saying "soda". That's what it's been 2 me ever since. Pop is Prince's music. smile
let me come over it's a beautiful day to play with you in the dark

If I wanted a sandwich I would ask for a sandwich.

And if I wanted a Coke I will ask for a Coke.

Pretty simple really.
Hard to believe I've been on the org for over 25 years now!

That's another one I forgot. I have no love for grinders either.

Here are MY, not necessarily YOUR, definative descriptions
of these particular types of SAMICHES...

Sub- a regular long bun, filled with various types
of lunchmeats, all in their COLD states, lettuce, tomato, etc.

Hero- same as Sub, but on a longer bun, preferably 12in.

Hoagie- same as Sub, but served on a WARMED bun, and
WARMED lunchmeats.

Grinder- ummm, my favorite! woot! GRILLED bun, served,
preferably, with warmed lunchmeats or, my fav, chicken.

Wedge- WTF??? never heard of that...are those finger sized
servings? Maybe it's a Hero, sliced up every inch. confuse

All go nicely with a bag of chips...and POP! lol
Thanks for the laughs, arguments and overall enjoyment for the last umpteen years. It's time for me to retire from Prince.org and engage in the real world...lol. Above all, I appreciated the talent Prince. You were one of a kind.

That's interesting, but they're all the same thing. It just depends where you are. You will never find a place that makes heros, subs, hoagies, grinders, and wedges. You just gotta ask for the right one depending on the region.

Some places in upstate NY call it a wedge. That's sissy shit.
