Ok, I am staying in a hotel in Hong Kong and a can of regular coke in my room is 35 HK$ about 2.80 english pounds, maybe $4 US, but I can go to a 7-11 shop and a bottle is 7 HK$ which is less than 1 english pound. I can get a McDonalds breakfast meal for about $2 US but in the hotel it is about $20 US (ok lets talk US money here, so there are no complications).


OMG we are talking BIG profits here! Just like in England levis jeans are about 55/65 pounds, about $65/75 US, petrol (gas) is expensive in the UK too, but in the US it is damned cheap. What things have you experienced that are cheap but real expensive in different countries/states

Taxis in London are expensive. once I was in indonesia, ok I know it is a poor country but we took a taxi ride which lasted about 40 minutes, it cost us about 40 cents so we gave the guy 2 pounds, about $3.25 US, he nearly cried cos it was like a weeks wages for him. .
