A little late in the response, but yeah it's the same stuff. They also use it when they pull out other teeth - babies and even permanents. It numbs the gum somewhat but it still fucking HURTS.

They used only novocaine when I had mine out too, and that had to be the worst experience of my life. And mine were done by an oral surgeon too. He actally climbed on top of me with a pliers, and had to plant his foot on the chair to get leverage because one of my teeth was impacted and he couldn't get it out. He had to break it into 3 pieces, and then dig it out with a pliers, cracking my jaw in the process. I was sobbing the whole time and the nurse was just squeezing my hand and telling me it would be over soon because she knew I was freaking out. Man, that was terrible. Psychologically, it really messed me up for a while, because in a way it was like I was being tortured. I hope Insatiable at least gets good pain drugs though, because that is so painful. I hope she's ok.
