Oh yeah, I've been happily married for 12 years now.

The secrets are honesty, loyalty, compromise, friendship, and trust.

The last one is quite crucial as you need to occaisionally spend some time appart from each other.

Cheers beer

p.s the alcohol really does help.

I agree, in some ways I dont think Id be happy in such a marriage. Im sorry if that comes across as cold but I can imagine that marriage as is with all good relationships about compromise. Ur description here seems that Ud bend 2 his every whim, as caring and sensitive U clearly come across and probably R.

I dont quite see your and Natsumes points.. nobody said that this wasn't being done FOR ME EITHER.. I was clearly stating that i would be understanding and caring that if my man had to work late I would make him dinner being that is just the way I am.. Nobody would make me do anything and knowing the man i have, he would do the exact same thing for me.. Your right, marriages and relationships are a give and take... I am clearly stating that would be my part of the relationship.. giving for him as he would give to me.. I don't bend to his every whim, but i do try to be helpful and caring in my relationships...
And yes I am sensative and caring..BUT SAD NO.. SORRY.. NOT AT ALL....Actually i think it is a bit sad that YOU would think doing something like that for someone you love is sad.. But to eaches own i guess...

I hear what your saying Little Miss Muffin. I'm an old fashioned girl myself, and from what I have seen (my parents have been married since 1968) it's the little things that hold everything together. You have to take care of your partner and your partner has to take care of you. You have to put forth the effort if you want a marriage to succeed. I know your not saying that the women should be subservient. Both partners have to keep up their end of the bargain. That's just my twocents

That would work for a few months, then you would start to feel underappreciated and will constantly tell him you want a life of your own. He would stay out drinking to keep from hearing this when he got home. You two would fight constantly until you divorced. In which case you would get the house.

Oh, and having flowers given to her while she gets ready is a big PLUS! They can be grocery store flowers, whatever, but it is a sweet gesture..I gave some to my husband that day..he was surprised...hey, just give this post to your fiance. Let her give you some flowers..
