I don't know why, but my eyes feel grainy and itchy. I even tried putting in another pair of contacts, thinking that would give me some relief, but to no avail. It's only the beginning of the work day, but I can't wait until the day is over so I can go home and take them out of my eyes. They are driving me nuts right now.

I've had this problem...my doc had to switch me to a low water content lens because my eyes are dry (I'm on allergy meds) and the lenses I was wearing were pulling too much water out of my eye.
You may want to go back to the doc and suggest this... Good luck!

To ignore what U said: I know what contact lenses feel like: especially when they're buggin.

You're not putting them in inside out, are you? That makes them as irritable as hell.

One of the last times I wore contacts I had to take them out at work. My eyes felt dry and I had a terrible head ache. I was unable to focus on anything.

I wear my glasses now.
