I'm not aware of anywhere in the UK using the terms soda or pop.
In Glasgow, they use the term ginger to refer to soft drinks. (Although it could be to Irn Bru only) "Gonnae gie us a bottle o ginger?" -type thing ginger-edit. [This message was edited Mon Oct 27 17:40:56 PST 2003 by mcmeekle]

I don't know anyone in England who'd call it soda. Soda to us is "soda water" - the stuff you add to whisky. I'd say "get me some diet coke" or "get me some lemonade" ... or, if I didn't know what I wanted "get me something fizzy"

I had a thread about this a while back.
I requested for people to stop calling it pop. "You need people like me so you can point your fuckin' fingers and say, "That's the bad guy." "

I never heard pop until I was in the midwest... Go tell Ron Kozinski in Staten Island he's got it all wrong... He lived here for a while and it took us a while to understand what he meant whe he wanted to get some "pop".. To Sir, with Love
