For me it changes with time.

The greatest factor in my morning ritual is that I have a job that starts late and the fact I just bought a toaster.

But if I did not lose any sleep because of worrying or too much alcohol, then my ritual looks like this;

Wake up before the alarm goes off at eight.
Just snooze for five minutes.
Then jump out of bed.
Go to the loo.
Get the water running in the shower.
Hop under the shower.
Towel off. Aplly deodorant.
Get dressed.
Go to kithcen and put toast in the toaster.
Get out me butter, me chocolate butter and me strawberry jam.
Off to livingroom and watch Dutch CeeFax (as the British is off since they gone digital, them bastards) until the toast pops up.
Return to kitchen, make a toast sandwich, containing previously named ingredients.
Eat while watching the half past eight news.
Repeat the toast thing if I am still peckish.
Quickly brush my teeth another time and floss.
Put on jacket.
Leave house.
Read book in streetcar.

My day starts at work.

I fart & piss & have a cigarette,then & ONLY then can I get on with the rest of my day!!

Loads of moaning and groaning. It takes me at least half an hour before I become fully human. My family have learned to ignore me until I've eaten. Breakfast can be anything from steak to ice-cream, whatever we have, I hate 'breakfast' foods. Then I dress the boys (like putting a cat into a pantyhose), myself, and spend half an hour chasing them around the house to get them buckled up in their carseats. By then I am in such a bad mood I feel like just staying home. Most of the time we do, it's just TOO hard.

I wake up too early because the %&)/¤)&¤¤/% neighbor insists on raking up the leaves every single morning at seven or so.

I look out through the skylight and try to get an impression of what kind of weather it is outside.

I climb down the ladder from my sleeping loft (bones creaking).

I switch on my gas fireplace (I love that thing! Why don´t we have that in Europe?).

I go to my bathroom, which is always freezing, and try to look decent on the way there since I can be seen through my glass door in the hallway if I´m unlucky.

I brush my teeth and take a shower and try to look at myself from good angles through the mirror, in order to convince myself that I really don´t look as tired as I feel (it never works).

I get back to my (now nicely heated) living room and get dressed.

I leave the house without having had breakfast. I can´t eat anything before noon without getting nauseous.
