The very first film I saw at the pictures as an ikle boy (awww...) touched

Didnt like The Phantom Menace Pod Race was awesome though - Ben Burtt has an amazing ear. When I was due 2 leave college after my Music Tech course, I was gonna apply 2 become an Intern at Lucasfilm's Audio Dept - had all the forms sent n shit.

But in the end, it just wasn't feasible: 4 a start, I dont drive, and therfore I had no way of getting 2 and from work - but man...I always wondered...what IF? sigh

Attack of The Clones was good 4 just being full on, loud and brash - but im just praying that they dont screw up with this next one - like 'Empire..' it needs 2 be really dark and downbeat.

The Empire Strikes Back is my fave, but have 2 admit, I saw Return of The Jedi 28 times at the flix! lol (bear in mind my uncle was a cinema projectionist and I was 13! So I used 2 sneak in2 work with him and watch it over, and over, and over... was kinda cool actually, I used 2 switch off and get transported away, as kids do - totally wrapped up in it.
giggle

...and Harrison Ford!!! drooling Need I say more? Every gay boi needs a rugged rougish space pirate 2 come and rescue him. What can I say? I dig a guy who knows how 2 hold a laser pistol and looks good in carbonite... big grin

I think the only thing I ever regret is not grabbing the 'REVEBGE of The Jedi' poster I saw advertsing the new film when I saw it in my local cinema back n the day - it's worth SO much money now, u wouldn't believe it. err

...and talking of money, hell back at the original series height, peeps would ca$h in any way they could 2 get some o' that Star Wars moolah!

Heh... I co-founded a Danish Star Wars fanclub in '84. It was going well too, but me and my friend closed it in '87 when we both got drafted for the Defense. biggrin

Afterwards I started a Star Wars comic book along with a handfull of fellow Star Wars and comics enthusiasts. We produced 33 issues plus a few specials before disbanding to focus on individual projects in '95.

I am total Star Wars fanboy nerd. nod

I love the new movies, although I am not blind to their faults. It's just such a kick to be back in the Star Wars universe. I am totally lookin' forward to the next one, although sometimes I am not - because after that there will be no more new Star Wars to look forward to sad

- except maybe the release of the original trilogy on DVD? drool

My favorite is still The Empire Strikes Back. nod

Like BananaCologne, I must admit that I had a huge teenage crush on Harrison Ford. He sure was hot in his thirties. drooling

Seeing Star Wars the first time changed my life, for real.

I just love Eps IV, V and VI (flawed tho VI may be in spots). Eps I and II were promising in spots but overall, underwhelming.

Man oh man, I wish Lucas had gotten Spielberg or Shymalan to direct the new ones. Or perhaps Jean-Luc Goddard (who made one of my fave non-SW sci-fi flicks, the Fifth Element).

FYI, the creator of "Samaurai Jack" has made some new Star Wars cartoons that premiere next Friday. They look DOPE..

I LOVE STAR WARS

Empire is totally my favorite. It has such a somber, menacing tone, fabulous villians and great scenery (Cloud City, Hoth, etc) Growing up in the tundra of Minnesota, I had plenty of time to play "Empire Strikes Back" with my friends...It made winter even better pretending I was on Hoth!

It's kinda cliche, but Bobba Fett is my favorite badass in the universe...

I was disappointed in Ep 1, but still enjoyed it. I thought Ep 2 was fantastic. A bit dry in the middle, but once the love story ended and the fighting started...look out! Also, the fight between ObiWan and Jango on Kamino is one of my favorite fight scenes from any of the movies.

I grew up on the original trilogy, still have all my toys and books from those days, and can't wait to see Ep 3!!!

I am a huge fan of Star Wars. Peered over the books of my older borther in the 70's for DAYS.

Then also, there was Battlestar Galactica, the TV rip off, which I liked lots.

I love the first three that came out. "The Empire Strikes Back" is probably my favorite. The showdown between Luke and Vader is IMO one of the best fight scenes ever made. Plus you can't beat the look on Luke's face when Vader tells him, "I'm yer daddy":

NOOO...NOOooo!!! touched

IMHO, Darth Maul has supplanted Boba Fett. But that's all relative.

The saber duels in Ep. I were better than those in Ep. II, and helped salvage some good out of the flick. There was way too much time wasted in that one. Ep. II was marginally better but the actors seemed to be sleepwalking.
The Obi-Wan/Jango encounters were the best in the movie (tho there were some blatant Matrix ripoffs in the Kamino sequence).

The slowly unfolding story around Sidious and the political manuevering are also underrated.

gooey, you were saying something about nerds? wink
