I haven't eaten a hamburger in over 15 years, but when I did, my faaavorite was a little broke-down shack in Indianapolis called "Al Green's Famous Hamburgers" (no relation to the singer)...it used to be a drive-in restaurant/movie theater, but when I was a kid it was just a drive-in restaurant ran by an old couple. It took 2 or 3 hours for them to make your order, but when it was ready...DAYYYUMMM...if that place was still open, I might consider falling off the vegetarianism wagon, seriously.

When I ate hamburgers, I use to go to this place called "The Charcoal Pit" This place had a real charcoal pit inside and all they served were hamburgers and steak sandwhiches, no fries just potato chips. The owner had all kind of burns on his arm from reaching into the pit all day. I use to go to that place when I was a kid and I swear up until it closed nothing had changed in over 20 years, same everything, even the waitress (the owners wife) still dressed like it was 1970.Weird. I knew whenever my mom went there because I could smell the burgers as soon as she hit the door, it was unlike any other smell, something about the way they grilled the flesh of a cow that drove me and my brother into a frenzy.

hamburgers are kinna-sorta off my list now since i've moved here to mpls, cuz where i'm at there ain't really no burger joints nearby (the nearest place is a mickey d's )...mostly restaurants and pizza places.
i loveded me some burger king whoppers, tho'. and b-bop's, their quarter-pound cheeseburgers were pretty good! there's no b-bop's restaurants here in minnesota tho', i don't think...the only ones i knew of were down in des moines.
