Me too. I read everything he's ever written at least four times. Except Cujo.

Yeah, my all time fav of his is THE STAND. But all his others, especially Dark Tower series, and his book on the art of writing are good

I think mine are The Stand and It.

best two... i have read it 4 times... i need to read the stand a second time

I ADORE Shel...but I thought The Giving Tree was crap. A few people I know even think it's sexist. I don't concur with this opinion but I can see how they would arrive at that conclusion.

I DO love Shel though. He even wrote one of my favorite songs, "The Ballad of Lucy Jordan" by Marianne Faithfull...

How the HELL is the giving tree sexist??? Its about a boy and a tree.. and the deep meaning of giving everything of yourself for someone you love.. how on earth is that sexist???

Again...I DONT AGREE WITH THE IDEA THAT THE GIVING TREE IS SEXIST...but LOTS of people do. Basically, the theory is that the tree is female and does all that stuff for the male...and doesnt get anything in return.

I never said you think that.. BUT how coud ANYONE decipher that.. IT is never said in the book that the tree is female..OR male...
People's theories will ruin the love i have for that book...sad
