i used to get into arguments with my dad all the time and he'd wind up takin away my privileges for however long...he'd end up shortenin/lessening my punishment a while after we argued and if i apologized. i ain't sure of how it is between you and your folks, tho'...my dad wuz strict but very lenient at times.
my best bit of advice would be for you to wait a day or two before apologizing to 'em for whatever. if it don't work, too bad. whatever your folks say, goes.

That was awfully brutal... In all fairness he's been going though a lot with mum leaving us and all the extra work he has to do. I just felt so pissed off because when she left I stood by him and was always there for him. And then I'm the one he turned on when it all got to much. I lost a lot of respect for him that night! Was your apology sincere, or might they suspect that you're only apologizing to be able to go to the party? :O

Best way is to be mature about it. Don't go on at them or make a fuss but forget about it for now. Nearer the time, when the argument and reason why you're grounded has been forgotten, tell them you'd really like to go and ask whether there's a way of them letting you go. Unless you've been really bad I think this woul work

best to lay low and do EVERYTHING you are supposed to do without being told, be nice to siblings etc... in other words suck up and just wait, I have a hard time denying my kids social events unless they have really messed up bad. Maybe by wednesday next week they will be willing to talk, BUT it DEPENDS on what you did to piss them off.

good luck Yeah--don't bring the subject up at all. If you're an angel for longer than just one day, parents can be really forgiving. You didn't kill anyone did you? :O Fear is the mind-killer.

Well, my father and I were teasing each other with names, and he calls me a name that i thought was offending.( I don't know whose fault)and I snapped and told him that I don't like to be called names that are offensive. He thought I caught an attitude!! Then, when I tried to explain to my mom wat happenned,( over a disagreement me and dad had over something as well) she stubbornly didn't want 2 hear wat i have 2 say. Finally she decided I shouldn't go 2 the party. my dad acts like a brother!! I still love him, though. It's tough.

I mean yeah no fun for you if you are not going to respect us but are you grounded or you just can't go to that party? I can see the whole grounding part... but just to take the party priviledge away doesn't seem to match the crime...and I am a hard ass when it comes to respect but if dad was playing then well... let mom cool off and just do what I said and for god's sake don't try and explain why she is wrong...just roll with it..she'll figure it out.
