Why moderators should B moderated

Cause freedom of speech is one of the most important values in a democracy, and because I doubt the org-moderators can keep an objective, open mind uninfluenced by their own bias when passing judgement (locking threads for instance)...

I trust Ben, Matt, Ian, LaV and Dansa 2 make an honest and fair judgement. They've always been fair and objective as far as Im concerned. They've even told me when they think Ive been wrong. Some1 has 2 do it or there would be anarchy here. Mob rule will not and never will work.

No offence JD, but U dont strike me as a person who would be in danger of getting your threads locked, and a post like this makes me suspect that U R sucking up to the moderators..
Mob rule and anarchy without moderators? I doubt it, I trust that people can moderate themselves, just like we do in everyday life, when U dont have moderators looking over your shoulder. Moderators on the internet are the "Big Brother"- society in effect.

And whats up with the "Report msg to moderator"?!!!
Is that some kind of threat?
It reminds me of the Stasi-regime in former East-Germany, where everyone reported eachother and - as I mentioned - of "Big Brother's watching you" envisioned in "1984"...

wait, I'll do it for them!

Moderators have absolute rights.
prince.org administrators and moderators reserve the right to edit, relocate and/or remove any message, at any time, for any reason. Consider all editing decisions final. If you don't agree with a decision, you may discuss it with the moderator who made the judgement in private, but you aren't 'entitled' to a "hearing" or even a response. The rules outlined on this page, above, will be used as moderation guidelines.

sorry, not meaning to belittle your thread CPH, but if you are having problems with a mod, it's probably best to take it up with that mod directly...

Prince.org isn't a democracy, and we aren't obliged to publish everything you want to say. If you want true freedom of speech, start your own website. On this site however, we'll lock and / or remove content that we do not wish to have appear on our site. We will use our own judgement to make decisions on locking or removing content.

This includes flames, abusive comments, racist comments, and other content that we deem unacceptable - for example, that thread about bestiality which I presume is the reason you started this thread.
