The Poseidon Adventure is classic A modern example would be Volcano, but not a patch on the ones from the 70’s. Towering Inferno - Good Earthquake – Has to be one of my personal faves When Time Ran Out – Paul Newman and Jacqueline Bisset – THE BEST! They have to introduce a cast of misfits including Hero, fit (but pathetic) heroine, old couple (who have been in love forever), young cocky blade, some kind of professional (Doctor, Pilot, Zimmer Frame manufacturer, Fireman) depending on what the plot desires. Plus a few other weaker characters for death fodder and maybe a precocious brat, who you want to die but, alas, never does. Oh and of course Ernest Borgnine HAS to be in it! Well, does "Tremors" count then? That's plenty cheesy. Oh Tremors so counts, it's all there, except Ernest unfortunatly! Has anyone seen Fearless w/ Jeff Bridges? The scarriest, most realistic-looking plane crash i have ever seen in a movie. Not really a disaster movie though.
Poseidon Adventure is the best true disaster flick. | |
