Diana: "They're planning 'an accident' in my car so Charles can marry again"

I saw this headline in the Mirror this morning and had to buy the paper. Has anyone else read or heard about it?

I must admit to finding the story fascinating, although it doesn't really add much more to what happened to her other than she seemed to have some sort of premonition or forewarning of the events. It's interesting to read her perspective on things though and I hope it prompts a public inquiry into the Paris crash.

Part of what she wrote:

"I am sitting here at my desk today in October, longing for someone to hug me and encourage me to keep strong and hold my head high - This particular phase in my life is the most dangerous - XXX is planning "an accident" in my car, brake failure and serious head injury in order to make the path clear for Charles to marry"

We don't know who XXX is yet - the paper can't say.

It was written 10 months before she died.

The Mirror also focuses on the fact that there hasn't been an inquest in Britain:

"Hopes that some of the mysteries would be unravelled were dashed last month. A spokesman for royal coroner Michael Burgess said the date for an inquest on Diana would be announced within days.

But hours later Mr Burgess ordered the statement to be withdrawn, saying it was "premature" to suggest a date and refusing to give a timescale"

Apparently it is true. Paul Burrell (the butler who "stole" stuff belonging to Diana but was acquited when the Queen suddenly remembered a conversation with him) had the letter that Diana wrote this in. She gave it to him for safe keeping.

So, my assumption is that the Queen knew about Diana's letter (or was made aware of it) and then intervened to stop the trial against the butler. I think he was guilty of stealing stuff, but has kept this letter as insurance .. and it worked.

I don't know why he didn't bring this to anyone's attention earlier, but again my guess is that he's less interested in finding out what really happened to Diana and more interested in making as much money out of her as he can ... he has a book out in which more details are printed I believe

sigh

REDFEATHERS

It kinda makes sense, as Mohammed Al Fayed has wanted an inquest into the deaths of his son and Diana, yet the Monarchy, keep holding back on it.

Poor William and Harry! sad

I guess she wrote this letter to Jim Morrison, who could not reply, as he was skiing with Janis Joplin at the REAL Paul McCartney's chalet, right?

Surrey County Council has announced that inquests will take place, but no date has been set:

http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/h...190301.stm

and no satisfactory explanation for why it has taken 6 years to hold an inquest in accordance with UK law.

BTW his name isn't really 'Al Fayed' - he just assumed the 'Al' part.

I'm with your Raspberry. The whole Diana thing has always stunk to high heaven. Just like JFK and Mary Queen Of Scotts, people in high places know they can get away with murder and that the general public will swallow any shit they throw up as an excuse.

Her death seemed a little odd but it was the whole butler trial that went on recently that convinced me the shit was brown. The Queen suddenly stepped in at the last minute to stop the trial. That is not a normal move in English law courts. He obviously had something big and tasty safely stashed away to threaten them with and make them let him go. Now, he's playing the smart move & is blabbing everything so he can no longer be a target. People only 'dissapear' before they talk. Now he's blown the whistle, there's no point offing him.

Of course, he could be bullshitting - he does have an axe to grind after THAT trial but it would not surprise me one jot if his tale was true.

Thanks Daned smile

... I really don't think he's bluffing because the note was in her handwriting and nobody seems to be disputing that she wrote it.

And I agree ... the way the trial finished really stank.

I don't think the Queen is implicated in Diana's death, judging by the other things she wrote but interestingly I heard an interview today (Richard and Judy of all places!) where one of the royal journalists let slip that the royal family themselves actually speculated after the crash that Dodi, not Diana, had been bumped off by MI5.

The reasoning was that Al Fayed had been a pain and they wanted to get to him through his son. Anyway, if that was the case it could've been an opportunity to kill two birds with one stone, so to speak.

I don't suppose we'll ever learn the truth, but I do think there's too many loose ends to this story.
