Something to think about ... Diana is the mother of Prince William , the future heir to the throne. As heir to the throne he would be Defender Of The Faith ( ie Head of the Church Of England ). Now , if Diana had married Dodi ( a muslim ) she would have converted to the muslim faith.
There would have been turmoil within the church and also politically if the mother of the head of the Protestant church was a Muslim.
