I think saying it is a beautiful thing is going a bit over the top! eek

I think Red's right 2 an extent. It can be interpreted as a sign of weakness. Especially as a man.

I just think it mitigates the whole meaning of crying to say, "Awww...isn't that beautiful." I'd be pretty insulted if I was breaking down and all that someone could think of is how beautiful it is that I'm crying simply because I'm male.

Yeah definetly. If U saw Robert De Niro or Al Pacino crying in a film U'd think 'what a big booby'!

NO, JD, you have to read all the posts. I dont think men are wimps for crying, neither do I think they are tough for not crying, but as Mizzunderstood and Paisley were saying that it is a beautiful thing, that a man can cry, thats just crap.

Fuck, I thought me and Moonbeam had sorted this out. As I said before, we are not judging men who cry or dont, just seems some women do or have judged them cos of this thread, and never seem happy whether the man is sensitive or macho.

hmmm

Well, what Im saying is I dont think a man crying is really a beautiful thing.

It isnt a beautiful thing, and neither is a woman crying a beautiful thing.

I don't cry often but I'm not afraid to cry. I cried last week after a draining phone call, which was the first time I cried in about nine months.

If I ever want to cry on cue, all I have to do is pop in my "Magnolia" soundtrack and listen to "Wise Up." That song does something to me that turns on the water-works like a shower...

Call me old fashioned, call me insensitive I don't care, but I HATE when men cry. It just makes me want to slap them. I just want to grab them, shake them and scream "BE A MAN GODAMNIT!" I know I'm gonna catch a lot of shit for this but whatever. I totally lose respect for a man when I see him cry.
In spite of the cost of living, it's still popular.

I hear you, DD--"Wise Up" and "Save Me" are the two songs that probably best sum up all of my fears and regrets, past present and future...
