Men who are afraid 2 cry

Why are so many men afraid to cry? I don't think I ever seen man cry until my early 20's and when I did I was shocked. I didn't know what 2 think, but honestly when I do see a man cry I truly think it's a beautiful thing, because to me it's like he's showing his sensitive side and he's not so caught up in the whole male egostical thing. Once a guy friend told me, if a man cries in front of his girl, it means that he trust her... every since then I've been aware of that thought. I say men should be more intouch with their emotions other then just sex. It let's us women folk know that ur human too lol.

Fellas, don't be afraid 2 cry.

I've never been afraid to cry. Sometimes, though, the tears just don't come, even when you want them to.

I also think it's very beautiful to see a man cry, it shows that he cares about other peoples feelings and such, but yet at the same time it just tears me up inside. sad

I agree- it shouldn't be that out of the ordinary. Unfortunately, it usually is.

That's different than seeing a man break down due to real-life problems.

I do understand, I am just injecting a bit of humour, thats all, but surely you are not gonna think you have a "real man" just cos you have seen him cry, also, saying that, cos the man you are with hasnt cried infront of you doesnt mean he is less a man either. Some men can cry, and others cannot cry so easily as Moonbeam said, and how guys are/were brought up, they were taught (in alot of cases) that boys dont cry, so you may think they dont but are probably crying alone cos they are embarrased about it.

I think the "its a beautiful thing" is a load of bollocks IMO. mr.green

Amen. I'd rather have someone be honest about his/her emotions than cry crocodile tears.

Personally, I've never found shame in crying. It's always been acceptable in my eyes and those of my friends. However, there are times where people just feel emotionally numb and can't get the pain out. Crying is very cathartic- I don't see why it's such a stigma in society for men, both as an embarrassment to men and a pleasant surprise to women.

Thank you Moonbeam. Thats just what I am saying and men CAN show emotion without shedding tears, just some men can cry and others cant. But a crying man isnt "beautiful" - touching maybe, but surely NOT beautiful. sad

I never said if he doesn't cry it makes him less of a man, I know alot of them dont like to let another person see them cry and I can respect that, I'm just saying that it is very rare when they do cry infront of someone especially a woman, it shows that they are very caring.

I'm with Red. Crying can be very touching, certainly, but to see someone break down in true pain isn't something I'd call "beautiful." Certainly, it's a big moment and hopefully it will bring some insight, but it tears me up to see people break down.

Yes it is! Thankfully, my floodgates opened in June 2002 and I've been able to cry as needed since!
