Check this out. Now I’m going to be careful how I tread here because I don’t want to say anything liable so I’ll just tell U what I think I saw today.

While I was waiting for my dad to wake up so I could go on my CPU (I got up early 2day) I was watching a program which ‘I believe’ is marketed at children. The program is called CD:UK and it’s a chart show playing new pop videos etc. Before CD:UK is a program called SM:TV (Saturday morning TV) which I know for a fact is aimed at kids as it has cartoons and kids entertainers on it. I suspect they use the same audience (very young children).

Anyway, I’m not really in touch with modern pop songs and I know obviously that the videos are sexed up (everything is). Anyway, a video came on my a UK girl group called Atomic Kitten (which I’m also guessing are meant to be a kid friendly band). I have to say in my dazed and confused early state I was semi enjoying the video, then to my surprise the 3 lady members of the group appeared butt naked using their arms and legs to conceal breasts and genitals and computer simulated effects (clouds and stuff) over their bodies. Instantly I thought ‘hang on, this is a bit OTT for kids TV’. I know Britney and Christine made raunchy videos but they were never naked. Then I to my further astonishment for about 3 seconds I saw that one of the girls lift their legs too high and I saw what was cleavage between the butt and the…U know. It could have been something X-rated, I didn’t get time to fully acknowledge what the crack was, but still, I don’t want my children watching that.

Am I being a bit sensitive or is this unacceptable, right now I think it was a bad move as far as the director and the group was concerned! What are your views on TV censorship?

I wonder if it was a tribute to that ABBA video where the blonde one was wearing a short tiger-print dress with no undies underneath? Scandalous!
