As I look at this weeks Entertainment Weekly magazine, they have the most powerful people in the industry listed. WHY, do I need this issue? I have always hated this issue and don't know why it is even published. Why do I need to know that Queen Latifah ranks above Leonardo DeCaprio (?), or that Ashton Kutcher even makes the list? Oprah is down two spots or Jerry Bruckheimer moves up two, who cares??? Does this determine what movie I go see this weekend, or what cd I buy tomorrow?? I just don't understand the whole thing.

VH1 has recently dedicated a program to random celebrities, after seeing how lavish some of these people live after making a string of bad movies or albums is unbelievable. Seeing their decadent lifestyle makes me want to boycott paying money to see any of their movies or buying their records. Britney Spears takes a private jet to her favorite coffe shop when she gets the urge, that's fucking ludicrous!!

I guess many people like to vicariously live through them. There's nothing wrong with admiring somebody and their work, but when it gets to the point that they have to know every detail about what they wore to the Oscars, who's dating who, what's the gossip on their sex lives, etc., it's more a reflection on the consumer than the celebrity.
