In LA there is a small family owned business "La Abeja" (The Bee). They have the best Mexican food. The best beans I've ever tasted. Everyone I know who has eaten there raves. Oh yeah, you see Mexicans up in that joint so you know the food is good
It's on Figueroa right outside downtown LA. Mmmm 2010: Healing the Wounds of the Past.... http://prince.org/msg/8/325740

We go to this proprietary "Mongolian Barbecue" near us constantly. Fear is the mind-killer.

El Patio in Santa Rosa, CA. It's a tiny hole in the wall type of place with the most scrumptious carnitas tacos with guacamole you could ever taste. The best salsa ever, too. I'm usually the only white chick there. Thank goodness I get by on Espanol! Oh shit, my hat done fell off

I think the name of the restaurant is Versailles...it's a cuban food place (with a French name, I know...lol). The food there is extraordinary...usually a line outside the door most nights, with great prices for lots of food and drink. Very friendly and informal as well...

A little family owned Italian place named "Gracie See"
More of a pizzeria, but is also a dine-in restaurant. The booths have personal jukeboxes, so we bring plenty of quarters. NOTHING matches, and the decor is ULTRA- TACKY, but the food is good, the service is good, and they offer $1 beers on some nights. Also, they place a basket of apples by the front door, for their exiting customers, a nice touch. They close down for a month during the summer to take a family vacation...lol. Thanks for the laughs, arguments and overall enjoyment for the last umpteen years. It's time for me to retire from Prince.org and engage in the real world...lol. Above all, I appreciated the talent Prince. You were one of a kind.

There's a cool, little 24-hour breakfast joint called "Chuck's Diner" in my area. Nice place to hang out and watch the college crowd.
When I want a soulfood fix, I hit up "Chesapeake Seafood with Soul" right around the corner. Ὅσον ζῇς φαίνου
