The employee in the bullpen should be fired. An employee should act in a professional manner and not cheer for any team.

Don Zimmer lost his mind for a second. It could have been worse than that.

Since I am routing for the Cubs to win it all, I don't have an attachment to any team in the American League.

I can relate to Boston fans because of my lifelong struggle with the Cubs.

then should the players that beat up the bullpen employee be fired?

everyone should have gotten some good fines and suspension for the playoffs. Zimmer getting $5K fine vs. Pedro's $50K is a joke! Zimmer's alzheimers must have got the best of him then.

GO CUBBIES!!! Cubbies will clinch tonight!

I can understand Zimmer getting all fired up, it was the heat of the moment and one of his players got hit. I disagree with ANY pitcher intentionally hitting another player, it's ridiculous. I say let the batters swing their bat at the pitcher and see how they like that...

I'm not too sure about what happened with the grounds keeper. But enough is enough, we have 2 very good teams playing each other and this whole rivalry is going a little too far rolleyes

They're saying that that pitch by The Rockette to Manny Ramirez was not intentional. Roger's a headhunter. (I watched the game where he beaned Piazza. Bobby Valentine said something about pitchers like Clemens, how in the American league they can "wear skirts." This is so true, because they never have to step up to the plate.) Personally I think that pitch was a purpose pitch. That evil grimace (before he threw the ball) tipped it off for me. It was really high and inside, but I can see why Ramirez reacted the way he did.

Then you've got a Red Sox groundskeeper in the Yankees bullpen rooting for his team. Didn't he realize that he was asking to get his arse kicked!?

This series is so ugly. It's just baseball!

Oh yeah. I heard on the news that Mussina was blaming his teammates for not doing their job. He said something about "60 feet 6 inches" (from the mound to home, I think?) suggesting that's what he has to be concerned about, but implying that his teammates need to produce as well. Hasn't he lost every post season start thus far?

Oh, and that funky windup of his FREAKS ME OUT. *shudder*

btw, who's gonna start an official post season thread? smile

Oh yeah... I CAN NOT watch a Nomar at bat. I have fits just seeing him go through that quirky glove adjusting ritual.

Is it "Gar-shaparra" like Tim McCarver says, or "Gar-ciaparra"?

lol Me too! At first it was cute, now it's just annoying.

I think Ramirez over reacted. Clemens was warned, he would have been thrown out if the pitch was intentional. It was way over his head...Manny jumped the gun.

I understand why he reacted but I guess he did over react. Oh, and I didn't like how he stood there for 15 minutes admiring his homerun and then took the scenic route home during game 1. (I think it was game 1.)

I hear the Yankees are leading 3-0.

Of course, the team is paying his salary. He isn't payed to cheer, however. He has a job which does not include cheering or causing a disruption that led to a fight.

he isn't paid to NOT cheer. since when is cheering disruptive at a baseball game, and grounds for provoking a fight?

Regarding the initial question, I don't know...my ideal World Series would pit the Cubs against the Yankees. I am rooting for the Cubs to win the Series in any event, so we will see what happens...

Major league baseball sux so much ass it's pathetic. I haven't watched even one inning of a game since 1999...or was it 2000? hmm

Steroid juiced players over here, headhunting pitching cowards over there. Every year I hope they strike just to continue shooting themselves in the foot. Attendance-wise they still haven't recovered from one of their dozen strikes in 1994 when they canceled the World Series.

finger major league baseball

Go Cubs. neutral

He can cheer for whoever he wants to cheer for. What's unprofessional is getting beat up and walked on by professional baseball players neutral
