To explain: I care about all of you as you're my fellow human beings and we have more in common than most. You say you connect to a few people. That's enough. Again, it doesn't have to be mad love, or anything like that in order for it to be a real connection. There's a tendency to overstate the impact of these relations, but that doesn't nullify the ones we have. It's not all or nothing. We make connections with a few people. That's a lot for me. And valuable. I think it's something to do with the amount of time I've been online within the Prince community and my age. When I first started chatting I did feel very strong connections to people online, and some of those people I do count as real friends, regardless of whether we've met or talked on the phone. But now I don't really feel anything towards the majority of people I see online. That's not to say a few people don't mean something to me. I believe that souls can connect whatever the medium. Whenever you meet someone on a similar wavelength, you will connect with them. But I don't wake up worrying about anyone and I don't rush to get online to see how you all are. I don't hold grudges and very few words that are typed here actually have an affect on my day. Sometimes someone will type something that is stimulating, interesting or aggravating to me, and I think the value of forums like this is that you can learn new things. But unless it's on a topic I feel passionately about I'm unlikely to remember who said what or to judge any of you by what you type. For some the Org is merely a cyber-playground or cyber-singles bar. For others it's a bit more.
I don't have a lot of friends, merely because I work all the time and I don't meet a lot of people I can pal around with at my job. Plus, I'm an INFJ in the Meyers-Briggs scheme of things and it even says right there that I don't make a lot of friends...BUT the friendships I have are VERY deep and spiritual...and THAT, folks, is WAY BETTER. The Org makes up for my lack of a huge social circle. Many of you ARE my friends and when you hurt, I hurt. When you are happy, I'm happy. So, yes, the Org DOES have an 'emotional impact.' | |
