The Org's emotional impact Why does the org have such a strong emotional impact on most of us? I mean it's just a website right? So why do we hold grudges against eachother, stay mad at each other for hours after we log off, or on the up side, care about and love eachother so deeply.
It may sound strange and you all can laugh if you want to,but when my alarm clock goes off in the morning the first thing I do is pray, and in my prayers orgers names are usually mentioned. " God, Help Chico feel better today." "God bless Byron for helping me out" "God help Althom through his surgery" etc. Why? Why do you people affect me so? Am I unstable or do you guys take the org with you when you log off too? In spite of the cost of living, it's still popular. |

Sure, sometimes.
You're interacting with human beings. The depths of that interaction may vary, but that's the fact.

Why should I care about some of you fuckers more than I care about people I know in the flesh? In spite of the cost of living, it's still popular. |

We are often cold to people we don't know at first. Language can be cold. But we warm to people.

I think what fascinates me most is that my computer comes alive. It's like having a computer with a brain or an intellect. (ok maybe I'm going to far) Sometimes I forget that there are actually people sitting on the other side of the screen peering into the glowing light, reading my words and the words of others. I guess the org being interactive is the great appeal and some personalities are able to reach beyond the screen and touch you inside.

I really don't feel that at all. There are a few people I'm emotionally connected to but I don't really give a shit about most of you ![]() ![]() To explain: I care about all of you as you're my fellow human beings and we have more in common than most. But you don't affect my moods and I don't have a bad or good day based on who I've typed to here. There are a few people here I do care about greatly but even then there is very little real impact on my life, unless we've met, spoken or written to one another.
