i will regret this 
Friday night my daughter met the man she LOVES LOVES LOVES and admires at the Taos Mountain Film Fest... DAVID BREASHEARS...!!! the man that has made it to the top of Everest... now 29,035 feet... 5 times. she was sooo thrilled and he signed her EVEREST 1996 expedition book... she better not want to climb that mountain... I cant see the pic to see how old she is... but...
has she read "Into Thin Air" by John Krackauer? If she is that much into Everest she must have. The author climbed Everest when the big storm hit a few years ago that killed a large group of people. They were filming the I-Max Everest film then also that you might be able to find somewhere. This is his story from that trip. Some things you wouldnt believe about an Everest expedition. Sure to turn her away from actually wanting to try it one day. Everest is a marvel though. I would have loved to meet Breshears. Or Sir Edmund Hillary and Tensig Norgay for that matter. My two younger brothers are climbing Mt.Everest as we speak. They're only going as far as the first base camp...but it's still pretty high.
They booked it all through a tour agency and didn't have to worry about anything else. I'll let you know how it all went when they get back. | |
