i'm stuck on this thought of what I would do when lil dopee comes into my life...

I really kind of think it depends what kind of drugs we are talking here... My parents were both addicts to many kinds of narcotics and alcohol. I smoke weed and drink, but I would not really touch a variety of drugs because I know what the effects can be, yes cannabis has side effects etc, but I have always thought I was in control of my use of it... If my child decided to smoke weed, I would take that as their choice. If they got into something else, depending on how serious it got, I would get them into treatment as soon as I could.

As long as it is no heroine, I would try to learn them how to mannage it !!

Pfff, I'm happy not to have kids though !!

I would hope that i would instill in them when they are younger how bad drugs are BEFORE they get into them. And if for whatever reason they do, then i would do everything I can to help them clean themselves us.
Of course i would beat the hell out of them in the meanwhile...

Kick his or her ass, and send them to a monastery in the Swiss Alps...

i have been preparing for this since my kids were about 3 years old...i dont believe in pullin punches...so i let them know in the VERY beginning...this is what i told my son...

1. if you join any type of gang in the future...i will either take you out myself...or drop you off at the police station...i will not wait for a phone call to tell me that my son has been shot by some stupid kid ...

2. if you use drugs...i will take you to the police...and i will turn you in. point blank...without question...there is no other way around it...you will not grow into a dope head ...not after all the time, effort, and energy i am putting into you !

3. if you cheat on your girlfriend when you are older... do not tell me where you are...i will tell your current girlfriend and give her directions if i have too...i will not protect you and make you into some player...you will be true to those around you and have respect for everyone you come in contact with.

the only way out of the problem...is if he comes to me before i find out about it on my own...if i bust him, his ass is mine. if he comes to me for help...i will admire him...and there will be no punishment.

at least thats how i feel now...my babies are only 8 and 5...so give me time on this one..it may change

When I was in university I used to live in a student house where there was a guy who was on drugs badly. In just one month he became homeless out off money and robbing old ladies. The land lord had already threw him out but since he was still registered at our address we had the police coming in at the strangest hours to search the house.
After a couple of weeks he came back to the house begging to stay the night ! He looked so sad I let him in and told him he could stay in his old room. I cooked him some food and gave him some money. The next day I had to go to colloge early and when I returned he had broken into my room and had stolen everything that had any value...

I was realy upset and should have gone to the police...
but I couldn't do it.
