Has anyone ever pulled a back muscle? I slept funny, and woke up with a sore muscle this a.m., and then tonight I was sitting and reached forward for something when the most ungodly pain I've ever experienced went ripping up one side of my back. It knocked the wind out of me, it hurt so much!

I don't have a heating pad, but I do have a massager , which seems to be helping a bit. No good pain pills (prescription), either. It hurts to breathe too deeply...damn! What to do? Am I a wimp?

Have you ever had this before, Carrie?

Is it Lumbago?

back pain is no joke...last winter i was in the hospital for 5 days on a morphine pump...THAT sucked ass

whatever you do...dont sit funny to try and make it feel better...that will only make it worse...try a hot shower...and lay flat...if that doesnt work...

call your doctor first thing on monday ...trust me, it only gets worse.

No, have never had it happen like this. And this is shoulder blade muscle area, not lower back. I'm posting on here to distract myself...

I hope you get better soon Carrie. I know once a friend of mine just sneezed and she pulled a back muscle. She couldn't turn her head the whole day! Be really careful and see a doctor if you feel you need to.

Thanks, everybody, I know I'm being a big baby! I normally don't complain, but being alone with this kind of pain was freaking me out. I feel a little bit better
