But seriously, though, it was pretty cool. I loved the way O-Ren's team looked. School uniforms with face masks. It was dope. I wonder when Vol. 2 is coming out. You know they had to cut it down into 2 volumes because it was about 3 hours long.

And if any of you do not know what I'm talking about, you're just going to have to go out and see the movie.

I think volume 2 comes out in March.

Feb. 20 according to Rotten Tomatoes.

I don't know if I like this trend toward back-to-back installments. I have no evidence, but it seems to me that making an audience wait a while (more than just a few months, anyway) for a sequel is a better marketing tool... and it helps fans "marinade" longer in the magic of a good story. Just a few short months after Matrix Reloaded, Matrix Revolutions is around the corner and I couldn't care less. I've not been made to "miss" anything. (Not that I was a huge fan of Matrix Reloaded.)

Well, the thing with this film is that the second half is not really a sequel. QT filmed one movie, but it came out to 3 &1/2 hours. The studio didn't want a film that long, and Quentin didn't want to have to cut anything out. Thats when Harvey Weinstein suggested dividing it into two parts. I think QT just wants to get the whole story out there as soon as possible, unlike the Matrix folks who just want to hurry up and get their money.

Oh, I see. So they just chopped it in two essentially? Interesting.

Volume 2 comes out in February and it's 3 hours long. It's a continuation, not a sequel. Volume 1 was 1 hour 50 minutes

ummm... where did you hear this? vol. 1 in my neck of the woods was just over 90 minutes, and volume two is also supposed to be just over 90 minutes, for a total running time of just over 3 hours.

Both volumes of Kill Bill are roughly the same length (about 1:50 including credits)
From what I've heard, Vol.2 is only 5-10 mins longer than Vol.1
(and certainly nowhere near 3 hours).

and yes, I can't wait till February! I loved Vol.1.
