You went to your first funeral? 9... my grandfather and great grandmother... same summer... next summer, an aunt committed suicide... ... that was a rough couple of years... thankfully, i haven't been to one in a while... ...

You bought your first Prince album? 3... it was "1999"... i didn't understand what half of the songs were about, but that didn't stop me from walking around singing them all the time... you should've seen me in pre-school and kindergarten, by the time that "purple rain" came out... ... had everybody freakin' the hell out... i think getting hooked on this stuff so young has had a huge impact on the way i am today... for better or for worse... ...

You first realised that you were an adult? when i was about 10... my father had disappeared for about a year... just left for work one day and didn't come back home... my mom was suddenly the only bread-winner in the family... not easy for a woman to support 3 kids by herself... our house was repossessed and we were slightly homeless for a while, just staying with friends whereever they would have us, until my grandmother was able to set us up in a place...

so, as the oldest, this is when i had to go to work to help pay the bills and take care of things... i've always had at least one steady job ever since...
