Moderator | So here's the deal... I have a week off from work coming up the first week of November and I want to go away for a few days, but my boyfriend can't take off. I was toying with the idea of taking a trip solo, but my man got mad when I mentioned it. Should I go somewhere by myself anyway?

Woman!
Go have fun and enjoy the air around you! All on your own! Is he your master?! He needs to get over it. You deserve some time to yourself. It will be fun and therapeutically beneficial. Oh shit, my hat done fell off

Two seperate people can love each other, respect each other, and do things by themselves as well. It's not about supergluing the two people at the hip. That's a claustrophobic disaster waiting to happen. Don't you think it's disrespectful of him to shoot down an idea of hers, wanting to spend some time by herself? Do you want to be around your lady 24/7?! Oh shit, my hat done fell off

but he's done it anyway. Why were you angry at him for that? Hell yes, but it was different. He just took up and left was unclear about where he was going or when he was comming back. Things were rough in his life and in our relationship at the time, and he just ran away from it and me instead of trying to make it better. This is different. Things are ok between us now and i just want to enjoy my break from school. If i sit home I won't even see him anyway because he works nights. I would just be wasting my time. He's really pissed I am thinking about "leaving" him behind. He is so jealous of the fact that I have enough money to take a trip it is ridiculous! I really want to go but i think it would no more damage than good in the long run. In spite of the cost of living, it's still popular. |

He should also be considerate that this is her school break, and a perfect time for her to do something she likes.. There is quite a diffence between respect, and jealousy, and or control... I say go. He will be there when you get back. He will, Sweens. Just like you were there when he up and left without warning. You're taking a well-deserved trip. Maybe by instilling some well-needed independence from the relationship, he'll follow suit. Otherwise, it looks like you're headed for a stormy future if the boy's so codependent. I'm sorry, babe. I pray you make the right choice to make you genuinely happy. Oh shit, my hat done fell off
