What's Your Favorite Wine?

Do you have a favorite kind of wine? Do you even like wine? I ask this as I'm sippin' on a glass of Sauvignon
Blanc... life is good. nod

Raspberry

White = any Chardonnay
Red = any Temperanillo or Calvet Reserve

I don't go in for really expensive wines. I'd rather spend my money on other things.

Rosemount Estate Shiraz or Merlot.

Jacob's Creek Chardonnay is the classic, taking no chances, dinner-with-friends-round wine. Unspectacular but rarely disliked.

All from Hungary ...

1995-1998 Nagyrede Cabernet Savignon Ausbruch
1994-1997 Szekszardi Nemes Kadaraka semi sweet red quality wine
1998-2000 Pinot Gris (Szürkebarát)
1994-2000 Ergi Bikaver (Bull's Blood of Eger)
1996-2000 Egri Merlot red semi-sweet quality wine
1990-1995 Tokaji Aszu 4-5-6 puttonyos high quality wihte after dinner port wine

I guess I seem partial ot the Hungarian wines. When you see "quality" printed on the label you are sure that the wine is from a perfect crop. Hungarian wines are some of the best in the world, although the Hungarians have been producing wine for almost 2000 years, they are just coming into the international spotlight.

I also love a decent Auslace from Germany. Shared a bottle in 1999 with a former coworker at a holiday dinner party that was from 1983. So sweet! Had three glasses. At least I didn't have to drive.

drool I love wurtzies! (I just made that word up)

For reds, I only really like Pinot Noirs and Chiantis. For whites I go for the Reislings, Gewurtztraminers, Pinot Grigios and Viogniers. We went wine tasting in Temecula and found a Chocolate Port. It was devine.

there used to be a new zealand white available (Sauvignon blanc i think) called CAT'S PEE ON A GOOSEBERRY BUSH that was a great chill out with friends wine. I usually tend to drink white when i'm just hanging with friends (and red with food), and this was a great, light drink. not seen it for a while though - anyone seen it?
