The Best Thing About America Is Those Big Chubby Kids U See At Fast Food Restaurants

Other countries, except perhaps China, cannot make small fat kids the way America does. What's different about the food there?

It's not just the fast food, but overprocessed foods in general that people buy at the grocery as well as vegetables and meats that were grown/raised using hormones and other genetic manipulation to make them bigger and more plump. Did we think those chemicals would not have an effect on us?

Plus physical education programs in school systems are underfunded, have old or outdated equipment, so what used to be an organized class for physical activity during recess or gym class is just people hanging out on the bleachers, on the field, or on the black top.

And at home, kids are getting poor diet and no exercise, because we have become an even more inactive population, sitting home playing video games rather than playing outside; family recreation is now watching a movie on big screen while eating microwave popcorn with "flavored" butter rather than going outside; etc.

It's a lifestyle... that equates wealth with high-fat foods and little or no manual labor in work or exercise.

Why is it that people in the UK have such fucked up grills (IE teeth)??? Don`t they have dental plans across the pond???

There's not much of a middle ground in the US, theyre either gym rats, or they completely ignore eating healthy and let it all go.

It's funny you mention that though because I've always noticed that famous people over seas tend to be a little more plump than American stars.

Pagey

I grew up in the 70s and a trip to McDonalds was a RARE thing. We drank apple juice, lemonade, and milk...we had Pepsi at the movies or out at resturaunts only. A trip to the corner store for candy consisted of raiding the penny candy bins or buying baseball cards (with the cardboard bubblegum!!!)...chocolate and the more extravegant candy and snacks was reserved for halloween or birthdays. Also there weren't any video games or videos. TV was meant for cartoons on Sat morning and the occasional cop drama or sitcom. We went oustide and played hockey, football, baseball, or basketball to have fun..

My point is that this a relatively new problem in America. I agree its the parents reponsiblity how to raise their kids aways from junk or fast food. I mean there were still fat kids then but not near as many as I see now.

Oooh nice comeback. You are right we don't have dental plans. Some of us have railings that aren't too bad but perfect sets are not as common here as in the US. Having a brace (you call them retainers I think?) fitted to correct wonky teeth is still not that popular.

...its the mentality not the food, watching whatcha eat has to be taught, if "you" dont care then the ones who promote unhealthy eating habits wont care either...
