Does anyone have a game they're absolutely addicted to?

I have been addicted to Settlers since I first played a freeware demo of the game in around 1995.

I can go without it for months, even a year or two, but I eventually end up playing it again. I cant' begin to calculate how many hours I've lost on this pointless game. But when I create my little world, they're "my people" and I don't like leaving them without food or vulnerable to attack. It's stupid. I also can't save the game and come back to it later. I play it all in one go, until I've created a perfect little world and conquered all my foes ... when a Settlers moment hits me, I can play it for hours without a break ... 11 hours in one go was my record.

I discovered Age of Empires a couple of years ago. That's good too.

Thankfully, I do get bored of it. I haven't played it for around 2 years, then I found the game again and now I'm playing around the clock. Dumb, stupid, addictable game!

i need to get vacation too. so, i have a question. when i bought living large, i was suprised to find that it never asks me for the original version CD. once you buy a new expansion pack, does it make that expansion pack the CD you use?

Well, I've got the Deluxe Edition (which is the original and Livin Large and The Sims Creator (which is really cool because you can make yourself into a SIM )) so, when I installed vacation it just asked for the CD once...since then it only asks for the Delxue Edition CD.
Maybe because the original version doesn't have as much info on it as the deluxe edition you don't have to keep inserting the CD.

Chris...do you have any gay couples in your SIMS neighborhoods? I've got one lesbian couple, who I gave a child to when I created them (I didn't know if they'd have trouble adopting ), but my gay male couple doesn't have kids. The game realizes that they're a couple (they kiss/do the wild thing) but, I wonder if they'll be asked if they want to adopt a kid. Has this happened with yours?

the only thing annoying about the adoption process within the game is that you have to answer the phone when they call, which mine get so many crap calls (like the "you are a summer, you should decorate accordingly" and other shite), i really don't make them answer the phone very much.

i really wish they had handled the adoption portion better by having an agent show up to the door to ask, rather than a phone call.

i had the first baby i got in the game taken away, too... it's hard, cause you have to pretty much have all your sims on the normal speed and in the room at all times, or you can miss the baby crying noise.

when i got baby #2, i just rearranged the house so daddy and the baby were locked in a room with all the essentials so that baby was always taken care of.

no, i don't know about "rosebud" i have not used any cheatcodes... tell me?

Next time you're playing...do a CTRL + SHIFT + C and a little textbox will appear...type in the word 'rosebud' and you'll get an extra $1,000 BUT...if you then type in '!;!;!;!;!;!;!;' over and over again you'll get an extra $1,000 for each character...you can collect a FORTUNE in a second!

Also, NEVER buy the guinea pig...(I learned this the hard way) an entire family of mine was wiped out by that SOB!

The guinea pig has a disease...if you play with it..and it bites you...normally, what happens is that your Sim will get sick and die...

Unless you have the chemistry set..and make the "vacine potion"

I have all the expanision packs..they are so much fun...
Now I'm waiting for "MAKING MAGIC" expansion pack...

That game is dangerous...

Civ 3 is also a game I used to be addicted to. But not as much anymore since it's gone all wrong and doesn't play properly

Empire Earth. I would play that game for hours and have to force myself to shut it off and go to bed. Then I'd lay in bed for 2 hours thinking about my strategy and what my next move(s) was going to be. Then I'd wake up in the middle of the night to roll over and the firts thing to pop into my head was "what's my next move going to be". I'm such a sad character.
