Some prisoners get more "privledges" than others. Like: computer access, tv, radio, doing hobbies, studying, outside jobs with their return afterward, use of dangerous objects, smoking, visiting etc. Others, depending on their behavior in the joint AND their alleged crimes they are in 4, have VERY pared down cells, no frills or privledges. One thing I DID notice right off was that most ALL prisoners, no matter what the prison or lock-up situation, had very well taken care of, strong, healthy bodies. This is because ALL are allowed 2 exercise, & some use the prison gym. Sometimes way TOO much body build-up, which HAS helped some of them in prison escapes I was told. They were going 2 cut back on all that. Anywho, I NEVER SPENT A DAY or NITE there as an inmate, & I never got 2 do any studies involving a womens prison, so I dont know (4 sure ) how they compare with ALL men prisons. I am sure that if one is arrested that has NEVER been in jail, it IS a very frightening experience, indeed. The county jails inside the police stations where MOST ppl R held 4 several hrs.or even days are probably the least intimidating, yet scary enough 4 a 1st timer. No peice of cake 4 them. I dont think I'd tend 2 call the experience "exciting". However, if U KNOW U can leave after one has been in one for educational purposes only, it is indeed fascinating 2 say the LEAST.
