Oh yeah! Those pesky little tickets can turn into nightmarish warrants and time in jail. Pay those fuckers!

I had an traffic ticket from Colorado in July 1999. I ignored it and moved to California. I wondered if it would pop up when I got my Cali license. It didn't. Cool.

Then I moved back to Colorado. I had completely forgotten about it. I was told my DMV there was a "matter" that had to be cleared before I could get my license. It was that damn ticket!!! I was worried about "resolving the matter" because I had heard stories of people being arrested at the court house when they go in to pay. (Greedy bastards get more money that way!) Well, apparently Colorado now just puts a lien on the license, rather than issuing a warrant. I only had to write a check. Pheww...

Out of 237 charges
I have spent approximately 119 days in a jail cell.
From coast to coast, up one end and down the other.
That includes two convictions ('76/'96) which i actualy
had to do 30 days a piece.

I'll almost certainly end up in jail at some point. I'm an animal rights person, and while I'm very against burning down buildings and other such acts of violence, I'm all for peaceful resistance (ie. parking one's ass in the fur department at Nordstroms to bring them bad publicity, stuff like that). All AR activists get arrested eventually. smile

I didn't fall in love with a lawyer on purpose, ya goober. Anyway, you already told me you don't work for kisses, and I can't afford you, so I guess I'll just have to rot in jail. wink

come on, spill it.

I was drunk and was thrown out of a club by some bouncers. The police took me away 2 rest in a cell until my Dad picked me up. I was about 16 at the time.

worship Rock on, brotha!!!

Earlier this year, there was a citywide war protest in Chicago (y'all remember that?) I, along with 300 others at my school participated in a walkout in order to join in the protest. We were downtown in the financial district, and a group of us (high school and college peeps, about 50) marched into Bank One and did our thing. We were all escorted out by various officers, but a few including me, ran back into the bank and started shouting at the officers and tellers! About 10 of us were arrested and driven away to the station about a mile away. I spent about 3 hrs in there till my mom came. It was actually clean in there! It wasn't really bad at all, except the fact that there was this wierd-ass smell (to this day I still don't know what the hell that was) Mama was actually proud of me too, despite the fact that SHE is a Bank One employee lol
But anyway, I got out just in time to still get to work that night!!! biggrin
