Totally agree... I'm really looking forward to the movie, but I'm a bit disappointed that they have split it up into two parts now

not me. I'd rather they release it in two parts than to a hack job edit to cut it down to an appropriate running time for a single film yet it totally blows. Quentin doesn't need another bad movie following on the heels of a that POS Jackie Brown.

I think Quentin was attempting to tell a tale both extraordinary and very, very realistic, though. All that boring planning and Ordell's quick death scene, for example, would have went down exactly like that anywhere but Hollywood.

I loved Jackie Brown as well... Samuel L was a great badass in it, had a different Kangol in every scene... DeNiro was brilliant as a lowlife, and it had Pam Grier! And it had a classic Motown soundtrack... what's not to love? Great movie.

I disagree. Kill Bill was written as a single movie all along - it was SUPPOSED to be one movie. I'd prefer it if they make it a single movie - albeit a long one if necessary. I don't mind watching long movies, what I don't like is cack-handed attempts to milk a product for all it is worth. There's no way Kill Bill needs to be two movies. The whole thing reeks of greed IMO.

Of course, I'll go see it coz it has Lucy Liu kicking ass (again).

sure it was written as one movie, but maybe it wasn't greed as much as mere economics. a four hour kill bill just isn't going to make much money because there will be less shows per day and less people may be inclined to see it (unlike you and I who don't mind longer movies).

but releasing this one movie in two two hour parts will attract people to see it, and yes, pretty much gaurantees a a double box office haul. I think it is wise decision from both a financial standpoint as well as an artistic stanpoint, if the alternative would have been to edit it down.

Re: splitting it into two movies...maybe there will be a "Director's Cut?"

Btw, Jackie Brown was a good film imho.

Jackie Brown wasn't boring..if it was slwo those parts were tasty as well. Like watching a greta dialogue ala My Dinner With Andre, gangtster style.
