National Novel Writing Month: 30 Day Warning!!

November is National Novel Writing Month, and to celebrate, the NaNoWriMo organization challenges people across the world to write a 50,000 word story in one month.

It doesn't have to be brilliant. It can be bad! There are no judges or entry fees or anything like that, though they do ask for some kind of verification if you hit 50,000 and want to be recognized for it. Their belief is that everyone should be able to say they've written a novel in their lifetime - I did it last year, and even though I only got to 35,000 words, I had a great time and plan on doing it again this year.

So who's in???

What did you write about? And have you considered having it published?

Oh lord, I wrote a big messy story about a public relations guru living in a dystopian future. I've actually been working on it throughout this year, trying to get the damn thing finished before November comes up and I have to start from scratch again.

Let's see, the challenge is 50,000 words and you're gonna ask 1,001 questions...each question would have to be roughly 50 words long...

Yeah, I think you could do it, easily.

I'm sure they love you! Mine was a notice that last year's account would be deleted unless I wanted to keep it alive, which I did. I think I got it because it had been inactive since the middle of November!!! I'm sure they love you!

Awww, thanks. It's just as well, though - I kinda like the idea of starting fresh with a new account and a new username and all that good stuff. It's kinda like buying a new notebook, it makes you feel like you can start from scratch with your ideas.
