It made my parties better...

It made my long drives shorter...

It brought me here.

I love music... love prince

Music makes the people come together
Music makes the bourgeoisie and the rebels

Think of yesterday and I don't look at the clock
I like to boogie-woogie, uh, uh
It's like ridin' on the wind
And it never goes away
Touches everything I'm in
Got to have it every day

Music makes the people come together
Music makes the bourgeoisie and the rebels

Uh, uh, uh...

You know I'm listening to track 10, the song "GONE" off Madonna's "Music" CD these days...actually it's on repeat in my car, at home and here at the office...it's definately changing my attitude due to an unfortunate situation this past week (see BOYS SUCK thread)...so yeah music definately helps and it's so therapeutic...

GONE

Selling out
Is not my thing
Walk away
I won't be broken again
I'm not
I'm not what you think

Dream away your life
Someone else's dream
Nothing equals nothing

Letting go
Is not my thing
Walk away
Won't let it happen again
I'm not
I'm not very smart

Why should I feel sad
For what I never had
Nothing equals nothing

Chorus:

Turn to stone
Lose my faith
I'll be gone
Before it happens
(repeat)

From my profile:

I LOVE to listen to music all day every day. Its my passion and what I look forward to doing when I get up in the morning. I don't think I could make it through the day without listening to something...

...

I look so forward to each day; only because I know there's still some music undiscovered to myself.

Truly, the only music I haven't begun to listen to is Bluegrass (not Country) or African drums; something like that. But I will at some point.

I'm listening to N.E.W.S. in the car; trying to 'get' it still. Its definitely different; but something that I'm looking forward to.

Music is one of the best things in my life. Prince music is/was a Godsend. I can't sing worth a damn or play any instruments but I know my music and it has drawn me to people and them to me.

Wow. Great tune. Two years ago I was fighting on the phone with an ex. I was in my car, with the "MUSIC" cd playing in the background. We were trying to figure out if we should try to be friends or not. He had to put me on hold right as we came to an impasse. When he did that, I turned up the volume just in time to hear, "walk away, won't let it happen again." When he came back on the line, I told him what I had heard and that "walk away" was exactly what I needed to do. And I did.

"Music..brings the people together"

When I was working in a record store, I once told a woman that music was the soundtrack to our lives. Thought that was pretty damn brilliant myself. Only to find out Dick Clark had said it ages ago! pissed Damn him!! mad

Anyway...How has music changed your life or enhanced it? Did it give you a new outlook on life, or different perspective? Any artist in particular or just music in general. Share your experiences here! music
Thanks! grouphug

Music has made my lifes problems miniscule in most instances. I've gone through periods when I didnt want 2 listen 2 ANY music, because it was too painful 2 hear certain songs. But now I find turning on music really helps my moods almost always. My main listening pleasure is none other than our prince, but anything related 2 funky/soul, classic, rock, Jazz, blues, alternative, reggae, & some hip hop, & gospel. I've learned alot of inspiration from many songs, & they still remain in my brain 2 this day. Most times I NEED 2 "sing along" with my favs from "the old school" & with prince! I played the piano when I was 18-21 yrs. old, but got lax with the lessons and finally gave it up. Regretted it ever since. Thats why I really appreciate talent such as JB, PRINCE, ( who is self taught ) and other talented artists.
