I'm really interested in following the story of this movie - I read a really super interesting (and super LONG) story in a recent issue of the New Yorker about this flick, and even though I think Mel Gibson is a bit of a prick and a crackpot, I admire what he's doing - putting up his own money to make a movie he feels called upon to make, not compromising with the version of history he considers to be correct, and making what he considers to be the most accurate telling of Christ's Passion that he can make.
I mean, sure, he's still a jerk. But a jerk who is putting his fame and money toward something that has some profound meaning, if to himself if nobody else.

The soundtrack to 'The Last Temptation of Christ', created by Peter Gabriel, is called 'Passion' hmmm... I agree on all accounts. I think the movies will be vastly diferent. Peter's soundtrack is awesome. The Passion is a biblical term that denotes the last hours of Christ's life. Yes, I know...
